Feasibility study

For Part of the final evaluation you will need to look at how feasible your final product is.

It is important that you consider how you will test and document this feasibility - (can it be realistically achieved as a commercially manufactured product).

​

Is your final solution fit for purpose and can it be used in it's intended environment?

Assessment criteria says
Feasibility of the design solution

Exceptional, with fully appropriate methods used to analyse and test whether the design solution is fit for purpose.

You should:

Make reference to your technical specification and your final prototype

Complete physical & digital tests, experiments, trials, modelling and simulations

Test the individual components - not just the whole product

Test the prototype in as many ways as possible.

Test to gather data where you can, e.g. amount of weight something can hold

Hold group discussions to gather varied consumer feedback

Have a planned approach - be systematic/ processed.

test the suitability of the materials used for your prototype and compare to the materials selected for intended commercial manufacture

include input from 3rd parties to avoid biased viewpoints 

Compare your solution to other existing products on the market

Test under different conditions (as appropriate)

Ensure you analyse the whole project and not just the physical prototype

Evidence your final prototype well with photos and videos before potentially damaging it through testing. (you may need to make more that one part of a prototype to allow for testing)

The completion of this page will include aspects of what your evaluation will include - competing this feasibility study will help with the completion of your evaluation.

This should be spit into 2 sections and include a plan and an execution (evidence of carrying out what you planned and the results)
